TDF Group announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Gilles Bastard, majority shareholder and chairman of ITAS Group, with a view to acquire ITAS Group. The transaction is subject to conditions precedent and is expected to be completed prior to the end of 2016.
Increased competition from other television platforms, DSL and fiber, and the reduction in the amount of spectrum allocated to DTT, post the second digital dividend in April 2016, will require new innovation and investments by DTT broadcasters to enhance the quality offering and ensure the longevity of the platform.
As a consequence, combining TDF’s and ITAS Group’s complementary expertise in the sector and optimizing capital investments across the combined entity will result in an enhanced offering for its customers and the end users in a dynamic and competitive market.
